What would cause popping, clicking, and the sound of air rushing in the ear?

Until recently, left side of nose was blocked, lifelong condition. Suddenly able to breathe through nose, with the above symptoms.

Sometimes, this can be caused by some medications or even high blood pressure. Go to the doctor and have it checked out. It could also be an ear infection.

What is the main differences between Tinnitus and Pulsatile Tinnitus?

I know that one is a buzzing, while the other is a heartbeat. But, is one easier to cure than the other? Are there differences in the causes?

One is a word which I can’t pronounce and the other is TWO words which I can’t pronounce.

Any cure or remedy for tinnitus (ringing in the ears)?

Have been suffering for >10 years. ENT specialist had diagnosed as ‘irreversible ear damage’ due to job environment. Had tried acupuncture but no effect. Ringing sound of high and constant pitch 24/7. Especially loud at night when the surrounding is quiet. NO IDIOTIC ANSWERS,PLS

I suffer as well. I have/had sensitive ears. I had been to like 50 rock concerts and blared music from 1985 to 1995. I started wearing earplugs at concerts.

then in a drunken stupor at a nine inch nails concert I removed my earplugs. my ears rang for six months.

here is what I do. get a fan in your bedroom and run it constantly. it provides the white noise and drowns it out.

or one of those wave machine things works well too.

Alprazolam (xanax) can be used to treat it.

However, if you have the gene for addition, alcoholic, drug problems. then be careful.

try another ENT. acupuncture?

good luck brotha.

What’s being done to cure deafness/hearing loss and tinnitus?

I know what causes all of those things, I just want to know, what steps are being taken to eliminate the problem, also, if there’s a reliable organization I could donate money to to support their research for it.
I just wanna know, what’s being done to help restore our hearing, and stop tinnitus?

There is ways to treat it and potentially cure it completely. As mentioned above me, there are techniques in which will improve and in many cases eliminate tinnitus. Check it out below to see what I mean

Why am I partially deaf in one ear?

I went doctors, and they checked my ear and found nothing wrong with it. I got ear drops incase it was blockade with wax, I hardly listen to music, even if I did why have I got a loss of hearing in one ear and not both?

Is this normal?
Try covering one ear and clicking and see which you hear the best out of?

Well some people lose hearing in one ear or the other.
My hearing is not as good as it was when I was 20 I am 48 now but I can still hear the TV turned all most all the way down. But some days I can hear clearly and have to ask pleople to repeat them self. It could be wax if you have listened to loud music or have been around loud machinery that over a period of time can cause hearing loss.
Other than that I don’t know.

How well does ginkgo biloba help with tinnitus?

for those of you who have tinnitus has it helped at all? I have ringing in my ears that wont go away and the doctor just told me it will go away eventually but it hasn’t as of yet and I suspect it wont so what do I do in the mean time?
circulation affects necrosis in a small manner interesting perhaps that’s why my doctor said it doesn’t work. I can see improving circulation but that wont make you younger..

Well, it can help, but it’s seldom a sole cure.
In and of itself, Ginkgo Biloba helps to increase circulation to the head. Because of that, it’s typically most beneficial for brain health, but it has shown benefits for the eyes and ears. In fact, I’ve seen some non-drug products that address tinnitus that include Ginkgo for that reason. However, just increasing circulation to the ears doesn’t mean you’ll be giving your body all the nutrition it needs to heal the damage… that’s why many of those formulas have several other herbs and/or Homeopathic ingredients to help heal the damage.

With that being said, part of it also depends on the cause. For example, if it’s just wear and tear over time, those formulas can be a huge benefit… but if it’s from physical damage (like sitting in front of concert speakers a few too many times), then it might not be so easy (some of that damage isn’t repairable either). In my case, I damaged my ears by using ear buds in Jr High and High School… my ears have had a dull ring for more than a decade or so, but thankfully it’s quiet enough that I only hear it when everything else is silent. I’ve been taking Ginkgo for the past 4 years or so and I haven’t noticed a significant improvement, but I haven’t been taking anything else to benefit the ears with that added circulation. However, I’ve noticed HUGE benefits for my memory within just a few weeks, so I know it works very well for other things. ;-)
If you wanted to try a formulation for tinnitus, then you should also be aware that many people do get tremendous benefits from them… but it can also take several months because the body has to heal up and rebuild the tissues, which takes time. Good luck and I hope I helped!

Can you tell me treatments for tinnitus? I am young and healthy, please help!?

I am 20 years old and physically active and the lot. All the studies I hear about tinnitus are for older people, and/or people suffering from hearing loss. There are also studies that suggest loud noises and music can cause this, and that isn’t my problem either. Could it be something with EarNoseThroat?
P.S. I have already been to an ear nose throat specialist. There are no ready treatments for younger peope like me

Tinnitus is define as ringing in the ears and it is the sensation of hearing ringing, buzzing, hissing, chirping, whistling or other sounds. The noise can be intermittent or continuous, and can also vary in loudness.
There may be further causes of tinnitus other than aging and it is surely something bad with your ENT. The causes may include blockages of the ear due to a buildup of wax, an infection, or rarely, a tumor of the auditory nerve can cause the unwanted sounds, as can a perforated eardrum. Other medical conditions that can cause ringing in the ears include high blood pressure, allergies, anemia and an under active thyroid. tinnitus can also be a symptom of a disorder of the neck or jaw, such as temporomandibular joint (TMJ) syndrome.
There are some simple treatment mentioned that will surely help you in this regard.

Take a good hearing vitamin mix- one of each

1. Emulsified A 25,000IU
2. Ester C with bioflavonoids
3. Mezotrace MULTIMINERAL
4. Methionine
5. Glutamine 500mg

•Use Ginkgo biloba extract 2-3x daily
•Mullein oil drops in the ears for 2 weeks to relieve pain
•Use dilute 3% H2o O2 to gently clean out excess earwax or obstructions.
•Avoid continuous loud noise. (Listening to loud rock music through head phones on a regular basis results in major ear problems.

For ringing in the ears you should avoid these things:
1. Avoid high doses of aspirin
2. Massage the ear as above
3. Acupressure: stroke gently downward from top of the temple to the bottom of the cheek with the nails for 30 seconds on each side.
