Does Jesus hate me? Why did he do this to me?

A few years ago I gave up paganism and became a born again Christian. I went the whole 9 yards, burning my occult books, getting rid of questionable music, and listening the Christian music exclusively. I attended church every Sunday, and sometimes Wednesdays, as well.

One day, I was going through my prayer list on the Prayer Pal program on my Palm Pilot, and praying to Jesus when I heard a roaring noise in my right ear. It really scared me, as it sounded just like someone blowing in my ear. When it kept happening I figured out that I was hearing my own heartbeat, and the blood rushing through my arteries.

Its been close to 8 years now, and I still hear this distracting noise for a good portion of each day. Its called pulsatile tinnitus. Whoosch, whoosch, whoosch. I’ve been to numerous specialists, and undergone about $10,000 in tests over the years, and nobody can find a cause or provide a solution.

Jesus has done nothing to cure me through faith, and in fact it first happened WHILE I was praying to him. Never, while I was faithful, did I get relief from this problem.

Jesus has one hell of a sense of humor, doesn’t he.

Can’t sleep, nose blocked…?

Are these problems related or is something else causing these?

It first started with a slight headache, then my eyes and nose were affected.

My nose is blocked but i have NO symptoms of allergies or sinusitis, none. It’s simply blocked and hard to breath out of. My eyes feel very drained and droopy.

A few months ago, i started having headaches in the back and top, it felt like a tension headaches and very tight. i was eventually sent to the Emergency room. Recently my ears have been ringing 24/7 (tinnitus). It seems to get worse at night. I’m also having symptoms of TMJ.

I went to a chiropractor and he said it’s because of the knots on my shoulders and lack of exercise. The knots are caused because of bad computer posture (which i corrected… the table was too high) I noticed i have a HUGE knot on my shoulder, it’s hard as a rock. I’ve been exercising more lately and massaging my shoulder and the headache seems to be getting much better but my "other" symptoms are still there.

Does anyone know why the domino effect? The doctor said something about one problem leading to another problem because my body is weak. He said my body will "borrow" strength from every part like my eyes, nose, ear, jaw, etc…

I also have trouble sleeping….. super insomnia. Even if my body is worn out, my mind just won’t shut down. Can a sinus problem or allergy problem cause massive insomnia at all? Or is it more likely the tension headache/shoulders causing it?

Are these problems all related? Does that mean if i relief the headache, all these should go away!? Or are these problems actually caused by separate issues? Is there a link to this?

I’ve done blood tests, spinal tap, cat scans, MRI, x rays…. all came out negative

20 Year old male. I’ve been suffering from this for 4 years, I’m worried that this might not work because i’ve tried so many things and this is the last straw, I’m out of ideas. Seeing a doctor is not possible right now. I won’t be able to have insurance for atleast 6 more months so i need some personal advice

Try getting rid of dairy products made from cow’s milk, especially cutting down on cheese/cream, and change to goat or soya milk.

I suffered from similar problems from childhood. It was only when I ran a B&B that one of my guests (an opera singer) said he never drank anything other than goat’s milk because it gave him catarrh, that I put together the cow’s milk with the sinusitis/colds/catarrh, sore throats, headaches, sleeplessness, etc. The older I got, the worse the problems got. Colds lasted for months.

I have avoided most products made from cow’s milk and used goat products instead, for many years now. It took about 2 months after giving up all products made from cow’s milk before all the problems stopped, but now, I’m fine – I can even eat cheese and yoghurts made from cow’s miilk occasionally; but if I have cow’s milk to drink, then I know I will wake up in the night with a blocked nose and nightmares.

80% of Western Europeans (including US) have the enzyme which is necessary to digest cow’s milk. 20% of us don’t, and drinking cow’s milk causes many and varied problems. Maybe you’re one of those who don’t have this enzyme?

NB: Ignore the Chiropractor – most of them are charlatans and some can even cause damage to healthy tissue/joints.

Myofascial Pain Syndrome Prescription?

I have had myofascial pain syndrome for over 4 years now. I have pain in throughout my body, weakened strength, muscle spasms, nystagmus and tinnitus. I have seen well over 20 doctors, had multiple visits to the hospital and paid out of pocket in excess of 14 thousand dollars and spent much more than that with insurance. I have had periods where I also had intense nausea. I have tried supplements such as magnesium and vitamins and physical therapy for trigger points. I have been researching my symptoms for years now and discovering more possible causes and treatments. I have avoided trigger point injections because I do not believe them to address the cause and I believe them to be harmful. I have also not had any prescriptions except for a week or two after visiting the hospital to help with severe symptoms using ativan (I believe) though it didn’t really help much. I notice often my muscles will be firing off and spasming at random times during the day and my muscles feel very stiff. I also have pain in the face, electric like shocks in the face and weakened jaw from chewing. I have had a splint made for my jaw to re-allign it from a neuromuscular dentist, but this has only helped the jaw slightly and not addressed the pain in other parts of the body or other symptoms. Recently I have been feeling that I want some relief from the pain or thinking that my problem my need to be addressed internally or at the cellular level rather than purely externally through manipulation. I have done lots of research over the years and recently came upon a drug called Marinol that people seem to say helps with fibromialgia (a similar condition to MPS) as well as muscle spasms I also believe it is a vasodilator so it should help bring more oxygen into the tissue. It appears that lack of oxygen is a central problem that causes trigger points to form. I’m very much apposed to NSAI drugs because of their harm to the liver and because they can cause tinnitus as well as opiates and other drugs because of the harm they do. However I read about Marinol and learned it is a cannabinoid, which is a very safe drug compared to almost all other drugs available. What I want to know is 1. Do you think Marinol would provide relief from my pain and be less harmful than these other alternatives 2. Is there any process you would recommend when looking for a doctor that would help me using a method of treatment that I am conformable with who works well with chronic pain? The problem I’ve had is that every physical therapist or doctor has some physical therapy or diagnostic scan idea they want me to try and it keeps draining my money and it never gives me any relief. Would an osteopath be a good idea, or a chronic pain specialist or what would you recommend so I can try this approach to treating my trigger points and myofascial pain?

Thank you.
Added details: I have seen a neurologist and he said he didn’t think it was Multiple sclerosis or trigeminal neuralgia. Though I do have the symptoms of TN because the trigger points are making the muscles in my face spasm and pinch my trigeminal nerve. I also get numbness and tingling in my lips and face. As far as Marinol, it was approved for off label use in the 90’s. All of the text I’ve seen on MPS seem to say that trigger points are caused by ischema, which means lack of oxygen in the tissue. Thats why I think a drug that can function as a vascodialator and stop muscle spasms would be so helpful.

This is a very interesting case…MFPS is a poorly understood disorder as you know. I’ve never heard of the symptoms of tinnitus, nystagmus and electric shock feeling with this and would be concerned for a more neurological cause of the symptoms, such as MS…but I would presume that at this point you’ve run the gamut of neurologists and had that ruled out. If not, please do so.

I’m not that familiar with Marinol, but I think you have the right idea to bring this up to a pain management specialist. An osteopath might not give you the answers you are looking for either. Most osteopaths have moved to a more traditional medical approach…but there are few out there that prefer a more "alternative" approach.

After a brief read about Marinol, I see that it is currently approved to treat nausea, but not chronic pain (yet). So it might be prescribed for you to help with nausea, but will probably not be able to be used for an off-label use.

Unable to diagnose – Please help!!?

My problem is present for the past 3 months and have not got any relief.
My first problem is that of dizziness and imbalance. I feel imbalance while walking though I have not had a fall.
I had a ear congestion due to sinus 2 months back and was treated for that. The ENT said that the imbalance was because of the congestion. The congestion was cleared and ears were ok. But I continued to have imbalance and sometimes felt dizzy.
One doctor then treated me for depression and gave me some herbal treatment and massages. The imbalance still continued.
In the mean time I used to feel like my nerves twitched (sometimes) and weakness and had mild tinnitus.
Then a neuro had given me clonazepam and Stemetil for 21 days & I improved wonderfully. But, when I left the medications, symptoms
seem to have come back (back to square 1?).
I have done CT and MRI of brain & spine & everything is normal. I have done all blood tests and Liver and kidney funtion test & everything is normal
Pl advise.

Dumb question but did you undergo more than one round of antibiotics to clear up the ear congestion, possible infection? If NOT then call your doctor and ask that they once again treat the ear infection.

They can not always see the infection if it is inside the inner ear and some may linger. Ear infections are typically hard to get rid of.

Then if the medications were a help and relieved your symptoms why will they not give them back to you.

Barring all other alternatives it may just be that you need to concentrate on something else and get rid of a false feeling that the condition is still present. You get to the point you feel you will never be any better.

GOOD LUCK I suffered an ear infection for over a year in misery before the doctors finally gave me an aggressive antibiotic regiment that did rid me of the condition.

Aspirin + Ibuprofen overdose?

Hello.
My wife, 32 years old suffers from MS and has quite severe chronic pain in her muscles, predominantly her legs but generally throughout her body. For the best part of a year she has taken:

4 Ibuprofen 200mg tabs, 4 times daily (3200mg per day)
4 Aspirin 300mg tabs, 4 times daily (4800mg per day)

The pain relief has worked well and she has had no bleeding or adverse effects other than mild tinnitus.

Today she told me that she has DOUBLED the above dosages over the last few days as they have been particularly bad. She has ups and downs, and the last few days have been about as bad as they get.

Should I be worried? Are these dosages considered an overdose, or should they be okay short-term? Can anyone explain the long-term risks? Should I go over her head and call her doctor and explain what she’s doing?

Finally, the reason for the combined Aspirin and Ibuprofen medication is simply because she has had quite severe side-effects to most other medications that she has been tried with. Everyone realises that mixing the two isn’t a good idea, but it’s the best of a poor situation at the moment.

Advice appreciated,
Paul.

I am afraid aspirin and ibuprofen should never really be taken together. The allowed exception is the 75mg anti-platelet dose of aspirin and even here many authorities advise against.

No, that’s way too much NSAIDS to be taking on a regular basis. She’s going to ruin her kidneys. My sister has MS and I sympathize with her pain. However, she’s going to put herself on the kidney transplant list if she keeps this up.

There are safer long-term pain relievers that her doctor could be prescribing.

What is wrong with my ears?

I have had fluid in my ears for about 6 weeks now and am being treated for it, but on Monday morning I heard what sounded like a child whispering, "Mom, Mom, Mom", from the living room while I was in the kitchen. I went into the living room knowing full well that my husband had just left with my son and my daughter was still sound asleep at the other end of the house. There was a commercial on the TV that could have been the source, but I couldn’t read their lips and haven’t seen that commercial since so I have no idea if the "Happy California Cows" were indeed whispering "Mom" (I highly doubt it, though). On top of that, it seemed that I could hear the whispering but not the commercial, like the whispering was drowning out the commercial. The next morning I heard what sounded like a person playing a guitar rapidly while holding the strings taut against the neck. It was a loud plucking sound and it woke me up. I looked at the TV which my husband sometimes turns on before he leaves and forgets to turn off, but it wasn’t on. Then, this afternoon while I was fully awake and watching TV, I heard it again. I was recently diagnosed with allergies and have been taking Sudafed, Claritin, and Flonase for the last 9 days, but I’ve not felt any real relief yet. I’ve looked up auditory hallucinations, tinnitus, and sounds that people hear when they have fluid in their ears (the ocean, blowing wind, etc.), but really nothing matches what I’ve been hearing. Any ideas?

Well first off,if you want to take pills just take zyrtek-D so that you dont have to take so much stuff… one pill, once a day. Better than pills every few hours. And you may be having auditory hallucinations from the meds, but you would also be feeling really high if you had taken enough to be hearing things. I would maybe do a little test yourself and go buy a netty pot (they really work) and stop all meds for a few days to see if it stops. If not, you should seek help. :)

Permanent Tinnitus Treatment or Cure?

Hi, does anyone know of a good treatment (or cure) for permanent tinnitus. A friend of mine suffers badly from it, and love him to get some relief from it or cured. Thanks for any hellp you can give.

First of all, your friend needs to visit his family physician and then an otolaryngologist. His tinnitus can be objective or subjective. It is also important to know whether it arises in the outer ear, the middle ear, the inner ear, or the brain.
It may be caused by anxiety, giant cell arteritis, meniere’s disease or simple wax build up. There are also dozens of other causes for tinnitus.

Either way to a fair extend, it can be cured with medicines, therapies or surgeries.

For more information, visit health.yahoo.com

Good Luck!

I’ve been suffering with Tinnitus since last 7 years, Please tell me where can i find a complete cure for it?

man i have consulted all ENTS possible, now let me find peace in life , i cannot bear this buzzing in my Ears. Now i need a relief out of life i need to hear the music of silence. Help me. and god will bless u.

Dear Pankhaj, Have you tried consulting a good Homeopathic Physician ? If not do it, the sooner the better or you can describe exactly what and how you feel and all other accompanying health issues and symptoms exactly the way you feel them the doctors diagnosis are not required yours are, to cure you !
Homeopathy treats the whole person not the disease or disorder so when you get well you feel cured in general including the specific thing you were taking the medicine for. Please put up your individual specific symptoms for an appropriate solution to cure you !
Take Care and God Bless you !
