Yesterday in the late morning I noticed a constant ringing in my right ear. It stayed ringing all day. I went to sleep hoping it would stop the next day, but I woke up this morning and it’s still there. I’m 16 years old. What should I do? Will it stop eventually?
this can be caused by lack of sleep try getting more rest and sleep it can be stress too. Get it checked by a doctor.

ringing in the ears can be due to many causes commonest being wax in the ears. did you have a discharge ( watering from the ear )? blocking of eustachian tube because of cold and sinusitis leading to middle ear infectyion can also cause tinnitus. ruptured ear drum can also cause ringing . other cause includes old age hearing loss not applicable in your age. did the ringing start after hearing sudden loud noise? few medicines like aspirin and some antibiotics acn also cause damage to the hair cells of inner ear responsible for hearing and cause tinnitus. in that case they need to be stopped. in very rare case it could be due to brain tumor or glomus tumor. do you have any difficulty in hearing as well? sometimes it goes away on its own as well. if it persists, go to an ent specialist. he would examine the ear after cleaning wax and treat you according to the cause. best of luck. can look http://www.medicinenet.com/tinnitus/article.htm and http://www.ehealthmd.com/library/tinnitus/TIN_causes.html

There are not many treatments for tinnitus, but there are some. I would recommend going to see an audiologist. My audiologist does a treatment, but it is considered cosmetic so insurance doesn’t cover it and it is expensive.
I do not recommend putting tissue (or anything for that matter) in your ears. You will probably notice that it gets worse when it is quiet (like when you are trying to fall asleep) so for some people listening to some soft music, or white noise before going to sleep helps.
If you recently "abused" your ears (by a concert, shooting without ear protection or some other loud event) then the ringing could stop in teh next few days.
